Job summary

The Squires Group, Inc. seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer / Jira Platform Engineer to own and optimize a cloud-based Jira environment in Washington, DC.

You will lead enterprise-wide Agile delivery initiatives, enable DevSecOps, and drive platform integration projects by migrating legacy tools to Jira and building scalable, secure workflows. The ideal candidate has Jira administration expertise, strong DevOps skills, and hands-on experience with API-driven automation, CI/CD, and Jira integrations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4+ years of DevOps engineering experience.
• 3+ years of Jira administration and platform engineering.
• 2+ years of cloud-native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience integrating Jira with enterprise systems using APIs, automation, and scripting.
• Knowledge of Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD best practices.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with GitLab, ServiceNow, and Atlassian tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and enhance Jira Cloud to support enterprise Agile and DevSecOps initiatives.
• Build and maintain integrations between Jira and key enterprise applications.
• Develop automation solutions using APIs, scripting, and workflow tools.

Our client is a financial institution providing the United States with a safe, flexible, and stable monetary system. They are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer / Jira Platform Engineer to serve as the technical owner of a cloud-based Jira environment and lead enterprise-wide initiatives focused on Agile delivery, DevSecOps enablement, and platform integration. This role will be instrumental in modernizing collaborative planning and development tools by supporting the migration of legacy platforms to Jira while establishing scalable, secure, and efficient workflows across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a strategic mindset and has hands-on experience administering Jira, integrating enterprise applications, and supporting Agile transformation efforts.

This role is onsite in Washington, DC. Per our client contract, candidates must be US Citizens able to pass the client’s background requirements.

• Experience with GitLab, ServiceNow, and Atlassian tools preferred.

Job Requirements

• W2 Hourly rate: $85 - $90. Pay rates are based on experience, qualifications, and location, and are subject to change at any time.
