Job summary

Citibank (Switzerland) AG is seeking a highly motivated Java 17+ Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems for Citi's Stress Testing Team in Rutherford, NJ.

You will lead engineers, shape technical direction, mentor teammates, and collaborate with Risk, Finance and Regulators to deliver scalable, compliant software using Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud deployments. This full-time role requires strong analytical skills and architectural vision.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry experience in engineering management.
• Graduate in STEM or Finance disciplines.
• Broad experience with relational and document databases, data structures, caching and reporting.
• Develop enterprise-grade apps using Java 17/JEE, NoSQL, Spring, among other tools.
• Experience mentoring junior and senior engineers across multiple time zones.
• Proficient with large, complex codebases and data-driven decision making.
• Experience in event-driven microservices, 12-factor apps, and cloud deployments.
• Strong design, coding standards, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams supporting multiple systems and drive customer-focused ownership.
• Set up and maintain processes that accelerate team delivery.
• Be hands-on in architecture reviews and promote servant leadership.
• Own multiple critical work streams with clear objectives and KR tracking.
• Establish and drive design/coding best practices within the team.
• Coordinate with Risk, Finance and Regulators to execute projects.
• Mentor engineers and continuously improve software engineering practices.
• Present clearly to stakeholders and deliver high-quality software.
