Job summary

Citi is seeking an experienced Lead Java Engineer (AVP) in New York to contribute to complex applications and drive development across teams. The role focuses on Java with Spring MVC, Spring Boot and Spring Batch, building robust RESTful services and scalable distributed systems.

You will work with DevOps tools, NoSQL databases like MongoDB, and AI-assisted development practices in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The position requires strong communication and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience with Java development and enterprise applications.
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, and risk analysis for new or revised applications.
• Monitor and control all development phases from design to implementation and provide user support.
• Apply in-depth knowledge to analyze problems and propose evaluative, secure solutions.
• Define operating standards and processes and act as SME to stakeholders and team members.
• Advise and coach junior analysts and operate with limited supervision.
