Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a hands-on Lead Java Software Development Engineer to join a high-energy team transforming the digital experience of pharmacy and health care.

You will lead end-to-end development, collaborate with clinical and interoperability partners, and ensure high-quality software delivery across on-prem and cloud environments. Strong emphasis on security, testing, and agile practices drives this role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software development lifecycle including ideation, coding, testing, and production deployments.
• 7+ years with modern software development practices.
• 3+ years supporting health care clinical applications.
• Experience with Kubernetes, SOAP services, IntelliJ and DevOps: Git, Jenkins, Github Actions.
• 3+ years deploying and managing applications in cloud environments (prefer Google Cloud).
• 3+ years building and operating large scale distributed systems.
• 3+ years working with large datasets and transaction volumes.
• 2+ years creating/managing GCP storage, Dataflow, IAM.
• 2+ years data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL).

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and work with a team of engineers onsite and offshore.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and code quality.
• Develop applications and cloud-native services using Spring Boot and REST.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery including deployment and observability.
• Monitor health and KPIs and triage production issues.
• Ensure security best practices are implemented.
• Participate in PI planning and Agile Scrum ceremonies.
