Job summary

Edward Jones is seeking a senior Java developer to design, build, test, and maintain scalable Java applications within the Digital Product Development team. You will collaborate with product partners to turn business needs into robust technical solutions, while guiding architecture and engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Java software development and enterprise application engineering.
• Expertise in Java web application development.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, system integration, and SDLC practices.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement scalable Java-based applications and services.
• Partner with product teams, business stakeholders, and engineers to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to system design, application architecture, and technology decisions that support long-term product strategy.
• Lead complex development efforts and provide technical guidance across applications and integrated systems.
• Mentor developers on technical design, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and solution discussions to ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability.
• Support production stability through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Identify opportunities to enhance application performance, modernize technology, and drive continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the adoption and integration of AI-enabled capabilities, automation, and data-driven solutions where appropriate
