Job summary

Citi is seeking a Lead Applications Developer to own complex Java microservices initiatives and drive design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale systems in a global technology organization.

In this senior individual contributor role, you will set technical direction, translate business needs into scalable software, and collaborate with teams across engineering, infrastructure, and product management to launch new products and improve processes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in software development or systems analysis.
• Deep expertise in Java microservices development including system design and distributed architectures.
• Ability to lead complex software projects from initiation through implementation.
• Subject matter expert in at least one core area of applications development.
• Strong systems analysis skills with ability to translate findings into engineering solutions.
• Excellent communication of technical concepts to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver Java microservices-based applications.
• Lead end-to-end software development lifecycle across design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering, infra, and product teams to integrate systems.
• Analyze and resolve high-impact technical problems.
• Evaluate cross-domain interconnections to inform engineering decisions.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and analysts.
• Assess risk and ensure compliance and quality standards.
