Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and deliver complex software applications within a high-performing Technology team in Irving, TX. You will shape end-to-end development from architecture to deployment and ongoing support.

You will mentor peers, drive secure, scalable solutions, and promote best practices across multi-team delivery, with hybrid work and strong growth opportunities at a leading financial institution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development or systems design.
• Backend focus with Java 17+ and Spring Boot Microservices.
• Experience producing architecture diagrams and design artefacts.
• Experience with Agile and JIRA planning.
• Ability to mentor peers and guide technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java applications with Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Build full-stack interfaces using JavaScript/HTML5/CSS3 and integrate backend services.
• Lead architecture activities and produce design artefacts.
• Manage all SDLC phases from planning to post-go-live support.
• Embed security practices and validate systems post-implementation.
• Drive test coverage with JUnit, Cucumber, and Playwright.
• Provide technical guidance to senior stakeholders and engineers.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
