Job summary

RBC Capital Markets in Jersey City is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join the Credit eTrading technology team. You will develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend systems and server-side applications for Global Spread Products.

The role focuses on server-side development, with full-stack capabilities being a plus. You will collaborate with engineers to support mission-critical trading systems and drive performance and scalability across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering/Math or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on Java/J2EE server-side development experience.
• Proven ability to translate complex business problems into robust, well-tested data products.
• Multithreading experience is mandatory for concurrent processing.
• Experience with low latency performance optimization for high-frequency trading systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend systems and server-side apps for Global Spread Products.
• Build scalable data platform powering analytics and AI tools across trading and banking divisions.
• Create standardized processes for eTrading workflows, including model packaging and deployment standards.
• Develop performance-critical trading systems with low-latency requirements.
• Collaborate with business teams to understand needs and drive adoption of new products.
• Identify bottlenecks with leadership and prioritize platform improvements for long-term efficiency.
