Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join the Intelligence Sector's CABA, building scalable Spring Boot services deployed to Kubernetes. You will evolve a high-performance Java platform processing large data volumes while modernizing to a containerized architecture.

You’ll work with an Agile team to craft RESTful APIs, optimize databases like MariaDB/PostgreSQL/Oracle, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, enabling mission-critical intelligence missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline; candidates without degrees require an additional 4 years of software engineering experience.
• Minimum of twelve (12) years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Experience developing Java enterprise applications using Spring Boot or similar modern frameworks.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
• Experience with Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, or other modern deployment platforms.
• Experience with Agile development environments using Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot and modern software engineering practices.
• Develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend services for mission-critical applications and high-performance systems.
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot relational databases such as MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
• Support modernization efforts through containerization, Kubernetes deployments, and CI/CD improvements.
• Participate in design sessions, architecture discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and Agile activities.
• Develop and maintain automated tests and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to improve quality and deployment reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Jira and Confluence across the full SDLC.
