Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our Agile team in the Cyber & Analytics Business Area. Build scalable Spring Boot applications deployed to Kubernetes, modernize mission-critical enterprise systems, and deliver high-performance Java platforms.

You will develop Spring Boot services, RESTful APIs, optimize MariaDB/PostgreSQL databases, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines with GitLab. Work across the full SDLC to support national security missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline; 12 years of software engineering experience when no Bachelor’s degree.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience on programs of similar scope.
• Experience developing Java enterprise applications using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container deployment platforms.
• Experience with Agile development environments, Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot and modern practices.
• Develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend services for mission-critical systems.
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot relational databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Support modernization through containerization and Kubernetes deployments; continuous improvements to architecture.
• Participate in design sessions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and Agile development activities.
• Develop and maintain automated testing and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to improve quality and deployment efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Jira and Confluence across the SDLC.
