Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join the Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). You will build Spring Boot services, deploy to Kubernetes, and modernize mission-critical Intelligence systems processing large data volumes.

You’ll work on backend services, RESTful APIs, and database optimization in an Agile environment, contributing to CI/CD pipelines with GitLab. A TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is required to support national security missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (or equivalent).
• 12+ years of software engineering experience on programs of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Experience with Java enterprise applications using Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with container technologies (Docker/Podman), Kubernetes, and modern deployment platforms.
• Experience in Agile environments using Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java apps using Spring Boot and modern practices.
• Develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend services for mission-critical systems.
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot relational databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Support modernization via containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD improvements.
• Participate in architecture sessions, code reviews, and Agile development activities.
• Develop and maintain automated tests and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to improve quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with Jira/Confluence teams across the full software lifecycle.
