Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. You will work with architects, QA, DevOps, and product stakeholders to deliver robust backend services and APIs.

The role offers remote work within the United States, with preference for candidates in the Eastern Time Zone. Must have 8+ years of Java experience and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of software development experience using Java technologies.
Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java enterprise applications.
Build and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services.
Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.
Troubleshoot application issues and implement scalable, high-performance solutions.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership and best practices.
