Enlighten, a leader in big data solutions, is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. You will collaborate with a skilled team, stay current with modern tools, and contribute to innovative software solutions for our clients.

This role emphasizes hands-on Java development, API design, and microservices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Security Clearance - a current U.S. Government Security clearance is not required at start, but will be processed for a Secret level clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• 9 years experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava) Masters in related field or 7 years with Masters; or High School Diploma with 13 years experience.
• Experience building and maintaining Kubernetes deployments using helm and flux.
• Strong Java software development experience.
• Experience in designing enterprise APIs.
• Experience in RESTful web services.
• Experience in Microservices architecture.
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle.
• Has a proven ability to learn quickly and work well independently and in a team.
• Experience with Linux operating system.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g. Git, Nexus, Maven).
• Demonstrated experience serving as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.
• Hybrid work requirement: average of 2 days per week at San Antonio office.

• Must have a strong working knowledge and experience developing Java based software capabilities.
• Should have an inquisitive nature, responsiveness, and excellent testing skills.
• Must also possess strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development.
• Seamlessly transition between hands-on execution and team guidance, treating mentorship and team leadership as inherent components of senior-level impact.
• Will work in a fast-paced, small business environment with our talented team.
