Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement Java-based software for our cutting-edge platforms. You will work with senior engineers on cloud-enabled solutions and data-driven applications.

This mid-senior role requires a active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance, strong REST/Microservices experience, and a collaborative, fast-paced mindset in our Columbia, MD hybrid office.

Qualifications

• Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience with Java and modern frameworks (e.g., Spring, Guava).
• Experience in designing enterprise APIs and RESTful web services.
• Experience with Microservices architecture and OOP paradigms; agile lifecycle experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java-based software capabilities for complex computer-based systems.
• Design, develop, and implement software solutions in collaboration with a cross-functional team.
• Ensure code quality with unit and integration tests and modern testing practices.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development.
• Work with Next-Gen Coding Agents and automated testing workflows.
• Support hybrid collaboration with 1–2 days per week in the Columbia, MD office.
