Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer in Columbia, MD to design, develop, and implement complex Java software for computer-based systems. You will work with modern tools, ensure code quality, and collaborate across a small team in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Clearance: U.S. Government security clearance required or ability to obtain.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java and related frameworks.
• Experience with RESTful services and microservices architectures.
• Strong OOP design, testing skills and rapid learning ability.
• Familiarity with Agile SDLC and Linux environments.
• Experience with AI agent tools and automated testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex Java software for multi-file systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Stay current with new tools and technologies; contribute to testing and security audits.
• Guide AI agent workflows and ensure architectural alignment across repos.
