Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement Java-based software capabilities for complex computer systems. You will collaborate with engineers to deliver innovative solutions and stay current with evolving technologies.

You will work in a hybrid environment with an emphasis on secure, scalable software and the integration of autonomous AI agents to optimize multi-file feature work and testing.

Qualifications

• Active Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance required.
• 5+ years in software engineering with modern Java frameworks.
• Experience with RESTful web services and microservices.
• Strong OOP and Agile lifecycle experience.
• Hybrid work with 1–2 days/week at Columbia, MD office.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Java-based software for client systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver robust software solutions.
• Integrate AI agents for multi-file feature implementations and automated tests.
• Guide AI agents through complex architectures and ensure security and performance.
• Adapt to fast-paced, small-business environment; perform additional duties as assigned.
