Job summary

Citi in Tampa is seeking an experienced Applications Developer for the Equity Finance Technology team. The role focuses on delivering trading platform capabilities, integrating with cross‑functional technologists, and applying agile delivery practices.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 years in apps development or systems analysis, strong Java, Kafka, SQL and Git skills, and familiarity with CI/CD and cloud environments. This position offers full‑time work in a global, fast‑paced finance setting.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis
• Experience in system analysis and in programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Exposure to AI solutions to accelerate development
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate

Responsibilities

• Engineer the capabilities for the Trading platform as per the book of work
• Code review of development conducted by others
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in‑depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Utilise advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
