Job summary

Man Group is seeking a Senior Java Engineer in Massachusetts to design and maintain the Order Management System that supports the systematic investment process. You will collaborate with traders, quants and operations to deliver scalable, robust software across cash equities, equity swaps and futures.

Our stack runs on Linux with Java and Python, using Micronaut, Spring, Tomcat, and a suite of microservices.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional Java experience in an enterprise web app context.
Experience with microservice architectures (Spring Boot, Micronaut).
Front end: CSS, JS, JSP, HTML, Ajax, JSON; modern JS libs (React/Angular/Node).
Strong SQL and RDBMS knowledge (SQL Server, Oracle).
Proficient in Linux shell commands.
Source control experience (Git, SVN).
Strong agile practices (Scrum, Kanban).
Familiar with Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket.
Willing to work with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain the Order Management System underpinning the investment process.
Collaborate with traders, quants, and operations to enable robust, scalable workflows.
Ensure data transformed from signals to trading decisions is reliable and auditable.
Provide coverage and opportunities for advancement within Front Office Tech.
