Job summary

Global Trading Systems, a leading market-maker technology firm, seeks a Software Engineer (Java) to own end-to-end OMS initiatives in the U.S. equities space. You will partner with traders, risk, and ops teams to deliver scalable order management solutions in a production trading environment.

The role emphasizes reliability, performance, and maintainability, with code reviews, architecture participation, and production ownership. Hybrid work in New York is available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, ideally including significant experience building and supporting production trading systems.
• Strong command of modern Java, including multithreading, concurrency, memory management, performance analysis and high-throughput design.
• Experience developing order management or execution management systems for U.S. equities.
• Experience in a sell-side trading technology environment, electronic market making, or equivalent.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in CS/Engineering/Math or demonstrated exceptional technical achievement.

Responsibilities

• Own projects end to end: design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of OMS initiatives.
• Understand the business and trading workflows, including regulatory requirements shaping system behavior.
• Collaborate with traders, operations, product, risk, compliance, and infra teams to deliver practical solutions.
• Lead code reviews and improve design consistency to promote maintainable, observable, and performant software.
• Monitor production, investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and improve instrumentation and reliability.
• Contribute to the long-term architecture and modernization of the OMS platform.
