Job summary

Leidos seeks a Principal Java Developer to advance mission-critical systems within our Intel Security Sector. You will design and maintain high-performance backend microservices in a DevOps-driven environment, using Java, Spring, and cloud platforms.

In this role you will mentor peers, drive architecture, and participate in full development lifecycle from estimation to deployment, adhering to Agile and SAFe practices with emphasis on security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience with Agile practices and SOE environments.
• Strong Java and Spring Framework, microservices design and RESTful APIs.
• DevOps toolchains and modern cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Testing with JUnit, scripting in Python and Bash; CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledge of data stores including SQL/NoSQL; Git-based version control.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain scalable Java backend microservices.
• Shape backend architecture, mentor teammates, and conduct code reviews.
• Implement validation and testing with JUnit and automated tools.
• Prototype and deploy solutions on cloud platforms leveraging platform services.
• Coordinate infra needs with DevOps for mission-focused requirements.
• Support SAFe practices and align user stories with customer use cases.
• Document deployment of artifacts across environments using GitFlow and scripts.
