Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Charlotte, NC for hybrid work. You will design and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient applications for asset and wealth management, collaborating with product owners, analysts, architects, and DevOps to build cloud-based enterprise solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on software engineering with Java 17.
• Proven experience building microservices and RESTful APIs with Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, event-driven architectures, and distributed design.
• Advanced SQL skills and database design/performance tuning.
• Experience deploying apps in AWS cloud environments.
• Solid practices: VCS, automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews.
• Experience in Asset and Wealth Management domains.
• Effective communication with distributed/global teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance event-driven architectures using Kafka for reliable processing.
• Develop efficient data access solutions using SQL and MySQL/PL-SQL.
• Integrate applications with AWS cloud services for resilience and security.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Modernize legacy applications by refactoring into microservices.
• Implement automated testing: unit, integration, API tests.
• Monitor and optimize performance with logging, metrics, and observability tools.
