Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and deliver enterprise applications that support critical business operations. You will work with clients, architects, business stakeholders, and cross-functional delivery teams to drive successful project outcomes.

The role emphasizes end-to-end development in Java/Spring Boot with PL/SQL and Oracle, plus exposure to AI-enabled development, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with PL/SQL development, query optimization, and database programming.
• Experience working with Oracle Database technologies.
• Understanding of AI and Agentic AI concepts, including the ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and solution delivery.
• Exposure to Kubernetes, containerization technologies, or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating directly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end software development activities across the full application lifecycle, from design through deployment and support.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, PL/SQL, and Oracle technologies.
• Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality solutions while maintaining strong coding standards and minimizing production defects.
• Execute and support application deployments across various environments while ensuring system stability and performance.
• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and align deliverables with business objectives.
• Leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to improve development efficiency, automate processes, and accelerate delivery.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver business value.
