Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join its Consumer and Community Banking division. You will be a core technical contributor shaping secure, scalable, production-grade software across multiple domains within an agile team.

Responsibilities include designing and delivering high-quality backend services in Java with Spring Boot, building RESTful APIs, implementing AI-assisted engineering practices, and upholding DevOps with CI/CD, observability, and secure coding standards.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts plus 5+ years of applied experience.
• Proficiency building backend services in Java with Spring Boot within microservices.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and cloud infrastructure as code (Terraform, AWS).
• Hands-on containerization with Docker/Kubernetes and observability in production systems.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and architecturally sound designs.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews others' code.
• Drives AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to enhance automation and value of tooling.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architecture and credentials.
