Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Software Developer – Scrum Master in Gaithersburg, MD. The role splits between hands-on Java development and Scrum Master leadership to deliver cloud-native, real-time software in a SAFe Agile environment.

The position is hybrid (three days onsite weekly) and requires ability to obtain Public Trust clearance. You will grow the scale of microservices, drive DevSecOps, and mentor teams across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development with 2+ years as Scrum Master in SAFe.
• Strong Java back-end experience with microservices.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs using Spring Boot.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and DevSecOps practices.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance and work in a hybrid environment.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production Java applications and cloud-native microservices (~50%).
• Lead Agile ceremonies and remove impediments to drive continuous improvement.
• Facilitate SAFe activities including PI Planning and system demos.
• Coordinate with Product Owners, Release Train Engineers, and architects on priorities and risks.
• Develop automated tests and ensure code quality through reviews.
• Support agile delivery and modern DevSecOps practices across teams.
