Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer in Tampa to design and build high-performance data processing applications within the Spring ecosystem. You will work on scalable backend services, apply AI-assisted development, and strengthen code quality across the lifecycle.

Responsibilities include optimizing backend performance, collaborating across teams, and applying TDD. Requires 6+ years of Java backend experience, Spring proficiency, and strong SQL/NoSQL skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on Java backend development (Java 17+).
• Proficiency with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud).
• Strong SQL/NoSQL database knowledge and query optimization.
• Understanding of in-memory loading and large-scale data pipelines.
• Experience with Maven/Gradle, JUnit, Mockito, and SonarQube.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures; TDD.
• Excellent communication for cross-functional collaboration.
