Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and deliver complex software systems within a high-performing technology team. You will shape end-to-end development from architecture to deployment and mentor peers, influencing standards across the organization.

You will work with Java 17+, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and modern front-end tech, embedding security and driving automated testing. A hybrid Tampa role offers structure and flexibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development or systems design experience.
• Experience with Java 17+, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate; Oracle PL/SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot Microservices, and Hibernate.
• Build frontend interfaces with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 and integrate backend services.
• Lead architecture activities and produce design artefacts to guide development decisions.
• Manage all phases of the software development lifecycle from planning to go-live.
• Embed security practices in design and validate functionality post-implementation.
• Drive automated test coverage with JUnit, Cucumber, and Playwright.
• Act as technical authority to stakeholders and define development standards.
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers.
