Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks an IWT Process Engineer to manage, maintain, and enhance industrial wastewater treatment operations. You will monitor performance, analyze trends, prepare reports, and develop upgrade work packages while troubleshooting mechanical and process issues.

Collaborative ownership of projects from commissioning to start-up is required. The role emphasizes safety, environmental quality, and continuous learning, with mentoring responsibilities for junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in related Engineering field.
• Working knowledge of water/wastewater operations such as biological nutrient removal, ultrafiltration, dewatering, clarification, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, thermal evaporation.
• Safety, environmental, and quality mindset.

• Risk analysis and management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and support operators, technicians, and the business with the O&M team and customers to develop, drive, and execute process improvements.
• Own and manage assigned transfer and/or treatment system scope and projects, including commissioning and start-up phases.
• Review, refine, and execute system commissioning and startup plans, with expertise in mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
• Monitor daily trends, inspect equipment, and coordinate with Operations and Maintenance on work orders and process improvement projects.
• Troubleshoot critical IWT system issues, especially drain quality, during routine operations and commissioning.
• Support instrumentation, maintenance, and operations teams in day-to-day tasks and commissioning activities.
• Interface with internal customers during commissioning and startup meetings to manage expectations and gather feedback.
• Coach and mentor less experienced engineers to share knowledge and commissioning best practices.
