Job summary

The Maryland Transportation Authority seeks a Senior Intelligent Transportation Systems Engineer in Baltimore to lead ITS planning, design, and implementation across toll facilities and related infrastructure. You will review plans, prepare estimates, and supervise ITS consultants and engineers to ensure compliance with standards.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and contracts, coordinate with MDTA disciplines, and communicate with contractors on RFIs while guiding small projects from start

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) years of professional engineering experience, with at least two years in design and management of Intelligent Transportation System projects.
• Selective Qualification recruitments may be used; no substitutions for Selective Qualification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ITS engineering team in planning, design, coordination and implementation of ITS programs.
• Assist the ITS Manager with identifying projects for inclusion to the ITS Program.
• Write engineering specifications.
• Assign work and review that of ITS team members.
• Develop and maintain task/project schedules.
• Track and manage budgets for ITS projects.
• Prepare engineering reports.
• Coordinate with other MDTA Disciplines.
• Communicate answers to contractors regarding RFIs.
• May manage small and less complex projects from beginning to completion.
