Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an IT Systems Engineer 5 within the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit to design, engineer, and maintain complex cyber-physical security infrastructures for federal, local, and commercial customers.

The role demands leadership across architecture, testing, and lifecycle management of secure systems. Responsibilities include evaluating requirements, coordinating with government and partners, and ensuring system integrity while guiding progress through complex

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Computer Science, or a Related Engineering Discipline
• 10+ Years of progressive experience; Master’s Degree desirable
• 4+ years of experience providing system solutions for physical security systems and IT solutions
• Experience eliciting requirements, conducting research, designing, testing, and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure
• DoD 8570 IAT Level-II requirements
• Strong oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate with customer leadership and technical stakeholders
• Experience with API management, scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, JSON, Bash)
• Experience with DoD IT security requirements and DISA STIG/SRGs
• Vendor certifications (VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, NetApp, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Assist with the automation and optimization of engineering processes.
• Perform systems engineering assessments and develop implementation work breakdown structures to drive planning and estimating.
• Research and prototype integrated system capabilities with industry partners and OEMs.
• Identify and document operational and technical requirements.
• Develop technical design documentation and test plans.
• Lead testing against established test plans and drive lifecycle changes across teams.
• Interface with government stakeholders on SE technical considerations.
• Review and approve system engineering documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
