Job summary

Orthopaedic Associates of Maine is seeking an IT Support Specialist II to provide high-level technical support and multi-site IT coordination in Texas. You will manage essential systems and assist with strategic IT initiatives to support patient care.

The role covers end-user support, AD/Entra ID administration, Microsoft 365, network fundamentals, and HIPAA-compliant operations in a healthcare setting. On-site work required with travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Certifications required: CompTIA Network+, Security+/A+
• Minimum 5+ years progressive IT support/systems administration experience
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
• Healthcare, HIPAA-regulated environment experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365/Exchange/Entra ID, Active Directory, Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN), Printers/imaging, Endpoint management, Backup/DR, EMR/EHR, PACS

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1–2 support for hardware, software, network, and systems issues
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, VoIP, and peripherals
• Support Microsoft 365, remote access tools, and healthcare applications
• Maintain IT service levels through the ticketing system
• Administer AD/Entra ID/Azure AD, user accounts, permissions, MFA
• Support Windows server environments, virtualization, storage, and endpoint tools
• Assist with LAN/WAN, wireless, VLANs, firewalls, and network issues
• Monitor system health, uptime, and capacity
• Support EMR/EHR, PACS, and clinical imaging platforms
• Coordinate with leadership and vendors to minimize downtime
• Ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of systems, devices, and access
• Lead workstation refreshes, software rollouts, hardware upgrades
• Coordinate vendor installations and service contracts
• Develop technical docs and SOPs
• Recommend improvements for reliability and scalability
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical teams, and admin staff
• Train staff on supported systems and security best practices
