Job summary

GovCIO seeks a Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex nationwide IT infrastructure upgrades for the U.S. Coast Guard in a fully remote role.

You will drive large, parallel projects—network hardware refreshes, OOB management deployments, and VSAT transitions—ensuring delivery within schedule, budget, and military regulatory requirements. You will coordinate with stakeholders, engineers, field technicians, and vendors, managing risks, budgets, and documentation while maintaining strong

Qualifications

• PMP or equivalent federal PM certification.
• Experience managing large federal contracts or DoD/DHS/USCG IT deployments.
• Experience deploying Out-of-Band (OOB) management architectures.
• Knowledge of satellite communications and legacy VSAT transitions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with government stakeholders.
• Proficiency with PMO tools for schedules, resources and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of multiple IT infrastructure projects for USCG.
• Coordinate with USCG, engineers, field techs, and vendors to ensure upgrades.
• Define scope, WBS, schedules, and manage critical paths to avoid bottlenecks.
• Identify risks early; develop contingency plans to minimize downtime.
• Act as primary contact for leadership, ensuring SLAs and regulatory compliance.
• Manage budgets, expenditures, and procurement workflows for global hardware.
• Oversee deliverables, engineering docs, change tickets, and MSRs.
• Drive PMO best practices aligned with federal standards.
