Job summary

Skyward is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead federal IT projects and modernization initiatives. You will manage software development, cloud-based efforts, and cross-functional teams while writing strategic plans, schedules, and deliverables.

You should have 8+ years in software project management, PMP and Agile credentials, and experience with Jira and Confluence. The role supports flexible hours with remote options and a strong emphasis on governance and documentation.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of experience planning and executing software development projects.
• Two-to-four years of experience managing federal IT projects including cloud-based apps.
• Bachelor’s degree and PMP certification.
• Agile certification (PMI-ACP, CSM, or CSPO).
• Experience with multiple agile methodologies (Scrum/Lean/SAFe).
• Experience managing matrixed teams and collaborating with senior IT leadership.
• Experience documenting and writing.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Support the DOT Office of the CTO to ensure cost-effective, efficient technology for current and future information needs.
• Align IT investments with the office’s strategic goals and objectives.
• Create, update, and maintain a modernization plan for existing IT systems with scope, strategy, schedule, and measurable goals.
• Analyze existing systems to ensure alignment with customer and business needs and identify opportunities for innovation.
