Job summary
GovCIO is seeking a Technical Architect/Principal Software Engineer to lead sustainment and enhancements on a VA project. This fully remote role is available to candidates within the Continental United States (CONUS).
You will guide a team of developers, mentor teammates, and ensure software compliance while coordinating cross‑team planning and documentation. Strong experience in Agile/Scrum, legacy modernization, remote leadership, and US work authorization are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of related experience.
- Proven leadership in supervising developers/engineers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of developers toward on-time project delivery.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to teammates.
- Maintain high coding and documentation standards across the team.
- Gather requirements, write user stories, estimates, and work plans.
- Support reporting, procedures, and status documentation for the project.
- Coordinate with system development teams and stakeholders.
- Analyze system factors and data flows to guide design and implementation.
- Participate in code reviews and sprint reviews to ensure contract adherence.
