Job summary

Miami-Dade County's Information Technology Department seeks an IT Manager to lead the enterprise network team, planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining complex data, voice, wireless, and fiber optic networks supporting applications and control systems.

The role includes supervising Network Engineers and technicians, evaluating vendor hardware/software, enforcing security standards, and driving projects, budgets, and feasibility studies for new technology and production infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Eight years of progressively responsible experience in developing, configuring applications, IT infrastructure support/maintenance, radio infrastructure systems, or information security.
• Additional related work may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise data, voice, wireless, and fiber optic networks used in support of applications and control systems.
• Supervise Network Engineers and technicians performing specialized technical assistance functions.
• Direct analysis of vendor hardware and software, determine corrective measures for malfunctions, and enforce network security and hardware standards.
• Lead project management, budgeting, forecasting traffic, feasibility studies, and cost analyses for new technology and production infrastructure.
