Job summary

Customer.io seeks a hands-on Senior Manager of Information Technology to lead and scale internal tech operations for a globally distributed team. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will oversee IT infrastructure and partner with IT Manager and IT Support Specialist to solve problems and optimize performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT experience, including leadership or mentoring others.
• Hands-on leader who balances strategy with execution.
• Experience in high-growth or startup environments with evolving processes.
• Solid understanding of modern IT systems and tooling (IDP, MDM, EDR, VPN, DLP) and SaaS tooling.
• Experience with compliance and security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Strong operational instincts and ability to prioritize and drive work across teams.
• Clear, proactive communicator across remote, asynchronous environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support day-to-day IT operations across a distributed environment.
• Manage and develop a small IT team with hands-on support.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support onboarding, tooling, access, and security needs.
• Drive improvements in IT processes and systems (identity management, device management, SaaS tooling).
• Support and maintain compliance and security practices (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions to improve speed and user experience.
• Establish operating rhythms (SLAs, ticketing workflows, documentation) to drive accountability.
