Placements24 is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to oversee a large-scale IT infrastructure rollout. The role combines planning, execution, and successful deployment across multiple sites, with a hybrid work arrangement in Randburg, Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering.
• Master’s degree or PMP/ITIL certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in IT project management with infrastructure focus.
• Proven experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects, preferably in telecommunications or technology.
• Strong technical understanding of networking, servers, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), and cybersecurity.
• Experience managing budgets exceeding R10 million.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for IT infrastructure rollouts, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Lead and direct cross-functional teams, including IT specialists, network engineers, and vendors, to achieve project objectives.
• Oversee the procurement, installation, configuration, and testing of new IT infrastructure components.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing proactive solutions.
• Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular progress updates and managing expectations.
• Ensure adherence to project management best practices, quality standards, and security protocols.
• Monitor project expenditures and manage the project budget effectively.
• Coordinate with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from project completion to ongoing service management.
• Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to IT infrastructure.
