Job summary

CO-OP is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our Wholesale Technology team. You will provide expert support across servers, networks, cloud, and security, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rota to manage critical incidents.

Based at our Scunthorpe office, you’ll work across a broad range of technologies, helping deliver reliable services and leading infrastructure improvements for our organisation and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering IT infrastructure support across servers, networks and cloud technologies.
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure, security practices and incident response.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and networking issues, working closely with our Service Desk to resolve incidents and problems.
• Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve issues across server, network, cloud and security technologies.
• Support the delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of infrastructure services across offices, depots and logistics sites.
• Configure, administer and support server, virtualisation and networking environments, ensuring systems remain secure, reliable and available.
• Work with third-party suppliers and technology partners to support service delivery and infrastructure improvements.
• Contribute to infrastructure projects, helping to implement new technologies and enhance existing services.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities, including backup management, testing and recovery processes.
• Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support when required, including responding to critical incidents.
• Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure environments across networking, server, cloud and end-user technologies.
• A solid understanding of networking principles and infrastructure, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience working with virtualised environments and core Microsoft technologies.
• An appreciation of cybersecurity best practices and experience supporting secure, resilient technology services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to investigating and resolving issues.
• The ability to communicate technical information clearly and build effective working relationships with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• A flexible approach, with the ability to participate in an on-call support rota.
• A full UK driving licence, with the ability to travel occasionally to sites across the UK and attend our Scunthorpe office when required to support major incidents.
