Job summary

SSA Marine is seeking a seasoned Assistant Manager, IT Field Services to lead day-to-day IT operations across terminal environments. You will supervise Field IT staff, coordinate staffing, monitor incidents, and partner with Cybersecurity and centralized IT to deliver secure, reliable technology.

You’ll engage with terminal operations, oversee changes, and report on service levels, while guiding teams and driving continuous improvement in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of IT experience, including lead or supervisory roles.
• Current ITIL certification required.
• Experience in terminal, industrial, transportation, logistics, or OT environments.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft endpoint technologies, IA, hardware, networks, and change management.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Field IT employees and provide day-to-day direction.
• Coordinate staffing, overtime, on-call coverage, and priorities.
• Monitor tickets, incidents, and metrics; address gaps and risks.
• Act as first management escalation for complex IT issues.
• Lead incident response, communications, and post-incident follow-through.
• Coordinate changes, patches, and maintenance windows.
• Manage vendor work and local IT projects within authority.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and performance processes; input to Manager for reviews.
• Collaborate with terminal leadership and Cybersecurity on priorities and risk reduction.
• Maintain documentation in ServiceNow and other systems.
