Job summary

Target is seeking a proactive IT leadership professional to support an Bakersfield, California distribution center. The role focuses on maximizing IT systems reliability and operational performance, with overall site responsibility for stability and technology services within the DC.

You will oversee data center operations, manage vendor resources, monitor alerts, and drive continuous improvement through Kanban and collaboration with product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical aptitude including network, server, telephone, and desktop experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of operations, hardware and applications.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage vendor partners.
• Strong reasoning, troubleshooting, problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to adjust working hours and be on-call for escalations on a 24/7 basis.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for distribution center data center operations and IT systems functions, managing vendor resources and workflow, and ensuring SLAs are met.
• Monitor and respond to system alerts, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business impact.
• Maintain distribution center data centers to predefined standards and manage all technology infrastructure.
• Lead preventative maintenance routines and environmental monitoring for system health and uptime.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to support change management and incident resolution.
• Serve as the local point of contact for infrastructure projects and drive continuous improvement.
