Job summary

Target’s Bakersfield regional distribution center seeks an Engineering & Facilities Operations Manager to lead maintenance teams and drive reliability-centered maintenance, ensuring high equipment availability and safe production lines.

You will coach and develop staff, supervise contractors, manage asset lifecycles, and partner with site leadership to optimize material handling equipment, safety practices, and daily operations across the facility.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Previous supervisory experience in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate necessary policies and procedures.
• Ability to manage, lead, and influence others on a team while prioritizing multiple projects.
• Experience with multi-contractor management.
• Self-motivated and customer-centric.
• Excellent PC competency.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance technicians, utility attendants, and EAM software technicians to a high-performance facility.
• Oversee reliability-centered maintenance to maximize equipment availability.
• Manage external contractors and ensure safety compliance, including lockout/tagout and PPE.
• Develop and implement data-driven improvements to maintenance processes and asset lifecycle.
• Collaborate with site leaders to meet uptime, safety, and budget goals.
