Job summary

Thinking Machines Lab seeks an experienced IT Engineer to support our New York office onsite. You will manage onboarding/offboarding, Okta-based access, and infrastructure tooling, while coordinating with the San Francisco team to maintain uniform security and systems across locations.

The role requires 5+ years in IT, strong SaaS and identity management skills, and hands-on experience with Git, Terraform, and macOS device management. Travel to SF monthly is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT engineering or equivalent roles.
• Experience supporting onsite employees and tech infra.
• Strong identity management, SaaS administration, and collaboration tools.
• Git and version-controlled operational workflows knowledge.
• Ability to own NY IT operations and collaborate with SF.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary onsite IT resource for New York employees.
• Own onboarding/offboarding, provisioning, and access changes.
• Administer Okta SSO and app provisioning.
• Manage IaC for Okta and SaaS platforms with Terraform.
• Operate NY office tech infrastructure, networking, security devices.
• Set up conference rooms, hybrid meetings, and events.
• Maintain macOS devices with MDM and Kandji if used.
• Collaborate with SF IT/Security and coordinate with vendors.
