Job summary

Maze Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, seeks a Senior Director, Information Technology to lead strategy, operations, security, and the evolution of our enterprise IT environment. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, partnering with MSPs and internal teams to deliver secure, scalable technology services.

The position is based at our South San Francisco headquarters with onsite presence required at least three days

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in technology leadership.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or regulated environments; clinical-stage and public-company exposure preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise IT in a cloud-first, SaaS-based environment.
• Experience managing MSPs and strategic technology partners.
• Strong cybersecurity, business continuity, disaster recovery, and compliance experience.
• Familiarity with SOX, GDPR, GxP, GAMP 5, and computer system validation.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications, identity and access management, endpoints, networking, and end-user services.
• Automation and AI execution experience with solid business impact.
• Excellent business judgment, communication, and cross-functional partnering with senior leadership.
• Ability to lead through change while remaining hands-on when needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Maze’s enterprise IT strategy and roadmap.
• Lead enterprise IT services including Microsoft 365, IAM, endpoints, networking, cloud services, and business apps.
• Modernize the employee technology experience and onboarding processes.
• Establish service levels and metrics to drive accountability and improvement.
• Own IT financial planning and investment prioritization.
• Lead MSP-enabled operating model across end-user support and infrastructure.
• Coach and develop IT leadership team across IT Ops, Infrastructure, and Helpdesk.
• Manage vendor performance, service quality, and cost while preserving ownership of strategy and risk.
• Create a service-oriented culture with internal and external partners working as one IT organization.
• Advance AI governance, security, and adoption across the company.
