Job summary

Institute on Aging in San Francisco seeks a Director of Information Technology to lead day-to-day IT operations, manage the MSP, and ensure secure, reliable technology for staff across California.

This role emphasizes operational execution, cybersecurity, and continuous improvement, translating CTO priorities into practical plans and coordinating with privacy/compliance teams to support HIPAA and end-user services. You will mentor IT staff and work with remote and field employees.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in IT operations, with 3+ years leading staff and vendors.
• Experience supporting multi-site organizations and healthcare regulatory environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, security, and Entra ID.
• Experience with HIPAA compliance and risk assessment preferred.
• Excellent customer service and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day IT operations, MSP governance, and service delivery.
• Manage MSP relationship, SLAs, reviews, escalations, and action plans.
• Administer Microsoft 365 suite, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, identity management, and endpoint devices.
• Lead IT security policies, vulnerability remediation, incident response coordination.
• Plan upgrades, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity with MSP and stakeholders.
• Budget management and equipment lifecycle planning.
• Lead internal staff, mentor teams, and coordinate with field offices in CA.
