Job summary

Sterling Search Partners is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to own complex IT initiatives from planning through implementation and closeout. This role requires Alabama residency and in-office presence for meetings.

You will independently own scope, budgets, schedules, resources, risks, dependencies, and overall delivery for assigned IT projects, with emphasis on developing budgets and schedules rather than merely executing SOWs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional project management experience.
• Significant IT project management in internal/client-side environments.
• Experience developing project budgets and schedules independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex IT projects from concept through closeout.
• Develop charters, objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
• Create and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets.
• Establish milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and deliverables.
• Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to define requirements.
• Manage cross-functional teams including IT, business, vendors and contractors.
• Monitor performance against budget, schedule, scope and quality.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and constraints.
• Develop mitigation and contingency plans for obstacles.
• Manage scope and change requests while controlling costs and timelines.
• Provide regular project status reporting to IT leadership and executives.
• Facilitate project meetings and ensure decisions are documented.
• Manage external vendors and implementation partners to meet commitments.
• Coordinate multiple projects within a larger IT portfolio.
• Translate complex technical issues into business and financial implications.
