Job summary

eMed is seeking a Senior IT Engineer in Miami, FL to design, build, and support the company’s hardware, software, network infrastructure, and SaaS ecosystem. You will architect scalable, secure systems, monitor health, and lead infrastructure projects across our growing environment.

You will collaborate with Security and Cloud/Infrastructure teams to implement controls, deploy hybrid/cloud environments, and mentor staff on best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field experience
• 8+ years of experience in IT Operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Strong experience with system installation, configuration, analysis, and data protection operations and legislation (e.g., GDPR)
• Thorough knowledge of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs), cloud computing, and single sign-on (Active Directory, Okta, AWS)
• Excellent leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills to manage multiple projects and mentor team members

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical architect for the company’s SaaS ecosystem, designing and implementing integrations
• Design, manage, and troubleshoot network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, firewalls, switching, routing)
• Monitor network health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving connectivity and system issues
• Collaborate with Security to implement and maintain system security controls
• Collaborate with Cloud/Infrastructure to design, deploy, and support scalable hybrid and cloud environments
• Manage installations, upgrades, and configurations of hardware and software
• Administer VMware Workspace ONE for device enrollment, configuration, app deployment, policy management
• Assess system performance and implement improvements
• Ensure data handling complies with legal and company guidelines
• Provide escalation support and mentor team on technical best practices
• Develop and deliver training and documentation to end users on systems and security
