Job summary

The City of Huntington Beach seeks a Senior Information Technology Analyst in the Business Systems D division of the Information Technology Services Department. The ideal candidate will lead complex systems analysis, programming, and collaborate across staff and departments to deliver reliable technology solutions.

Responsibilities include analyzing requirements, designing and implementing integrated systems, supporting vendors and contractors, and developing data interfaces.

Qualifications

• Experience with IT business applications supporting software development projects.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft SharePoint and/or SQL database administration.
• Experience with SQL data modeling and data analytics.
• Preferred experience with system integration and ETL pipelines.
• Experience supporting or integrating payment processing systems.
• Exposure to legacy system modernization initiatives.
• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Experience providing compliance support.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with clients to analyze system requirements and recommend solutions.
• Plans, designs, builds, tests, implements, maintains and enhances hardware and software systems; integrates City network and other systems.
• Provides professional customer support for system-related software and hardware issues.
• Maintains relationships with vendors; supervises contractors; tests upgrades and patches; establishes backup/restoration procedures.
• Performs research, gathers costing information, and recommends hardware and/or software.
• Develops web applications, server components, and data interfaces.
• Performs system administration tests including database security and disaster recovery.
• Writes programs and scripting using various languages and database platforms.
