Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer to oversee cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) requirements for DoD/IC environments. The role ensures systems comply with ICD 503, RMF, and NIST/CNSSI guidance throughout the system life cycle.

The ISSO will lead A&A activities, develop SSPs, SAPs, SARs, and POA&Ms, and coordinate with IA and security teams to maintain authorization and posture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in information assurance, cybersecurity, or A&A in DoD/IC environments.
• Experience supporting ICD 503 Certification and Accreditation (C&A) activities.
• Strong knowledge of RMF and NIST SP 800-53, 800-37, 800-39, 800-30, CNSSI 1253.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and maintaining SSPs, SAPs, SARs, and POA&Ms.

Responsibilities

• Implement and oversee cybersecurity and Information Assurance (IA) requirements for assigned systems.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Government and IC cybersecurity policies, including ICD 503, DoD RMF, NIST SP 800-53/800-37/800-39/800-30, CNSSI guidance.
• Prepare, maintain, and manage Assessment & Authorization (A&A) documentation and processes.
• Support system categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, and continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain security artifacts such as SSPs, POA&Ms, SAPs, SARs.
• Coordinate with IA and cybersecurity team members, other security disciplines and government security representatives.
• Monitor system security posture and remediate identified risks and vulnerabilities.
• Maintain authorization throughout system life cycle.
• Provide security guidance to program and technical leadership.
