Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer to oversee cybersecurity and IA for classified engineering and operational networks. The role ensures compliance with ICD 503, RMF, NIST SP 800-53, 800-37, 800-39, 800-30, CNSSI 1253, and supports A&A activities across the system life cycle.

The ISSO will coordinate with IA teams, government security representatives, and program personnel to maintain an secure posture and implement remediation for identified risks

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 8+ years in information assurance, cybersecurity, or A&A for DoD/IC environments.
• Experience with ICD 503 C&A activities.
• Strong RMF knowledge and guidance: NIST SP 800-53/37/39/30, CNSSI 1253.
• Experience preparing and maintaining A&A artifacts: SSPs, SAPs, SARs, POA&Ms.
• Familiarity with engineering and operational networks supporting classified systems.
• Experience with IC systems, cybersecurity requirements and mission operations.
• Familiarity with multi-domain, high-compliance security environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cybersecurity and IA requirements for assigned systems.
• Ensure compliance with ICDs and DoD cybersecurity policies.
• Prepare, maintain, and manage A&A documentation and processes.
• Support system categorization, control selection, and continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, and security assessment docs.
• Coordinate with IA and cybersecurity teams and government security reps.
• Monitor security posture and remediate identified risks/vulnerabilities.
• Maintain authorization and compliance throughout system life cycle.
• Maintain training for systems and role responsibilities.
• Provide security guidance to leadership and program teams.
