Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Philadelphia, PA is seeking experienced engineers to support construction of the IPS Motor Module for Columbia Class submarines. The role focuses on design and deck plate support for MPS equipment during motor module construction and testing, with a training rotation in New London, CT.

The position requires collaboration with NAVSEA and related groups, troubleshooting IPS cognizant issues, and supporting IPS test programs, with relocation options and a 15% site

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering or related technical field is required.
• 5–14 years of post-graduate engineering experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Determine root causes of IPS cognizant issues and correct deficiencies to minimize interruptions.
• Perform surveillances of work under cognizance area.
• Serve as primary Electric Boat contact for on-site IPS component suppliers.
• Support development of IPS cognizant component group engineering directions.
• Interface with NAVSEA/NNL/NSWC and vendors; assist test programs as applicable.
