Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton seeks engineers to support the construction and testing of Power Conversion Modules for Columbia Class submarines. This hands-on role collaborates with shipyard teams to ensure a reliable power distribution system and experience in shipyard operations.

The position requires a B.S. in Engineering, 5+ years of post-graduate engineering experience, and the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD security clearance. This is an on-site, full-time opportunity at EB Groton.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering is required.
• 5+ years post-graduate engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the U.S. DoD (U.S. citizen).

Responsibilities

• Develop troubleshooting strategies and write procedures for shipyard execution.
• Support trades and waterfront personnel in the installation and testing of PCMs
• Work with system owners, Ships Test Organization, electrical trades Ships Management and Reactor Plant Contractor Organization to ensure alignment across troubleshooting activities and ship's schedule
• Help prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and work instructions
• Communicate with shipyard personnel to gather information, understand construction needs, and resolve technical questions
• Learn Electric Boat processes, procedures, and core values
• Provide inputs for design changes to improve design robustness and maintainability
